From Mom:

It is nearly November 1st and winter will soon be upon us. (Nov 9th....It is!!!) The latest news is that we have had house guests for the last two weekends. My brother was here and spoke at our church, and I had my first meeting with his new wife, Myra. She is a sweetheart, and Dan is very happy.....so I am very happy for both of them. Then we had Steven and his family here from Houston for three days including his in-laws. After they left, I walked 1.2 miles for the Cropwalk on 10/24 and I CARRIED my cane every step of the way. I put in a lot of time training for that distance by walking along East Lake Rd for the two weeks leading up to the CropWalk. WIn walked with me and then took me out to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. He is so faithfully attentive and helpful everyday.

P.T.L. We have both been able to get a flu shot through our local doctor since we are both over 65. The doctor had twenty doses and offered two of them to us.

From Dad: reflecting on Connie's past month...
- Crop Walk: She charged our agency by the minute!!! 1/4 of the proceeds went to our local Community Services, a good cause especially since I am on the Board of Directors.
- Her movement continues to improve being more fluid and balanced
- Always on top of the kitchen and laundry and doing more food preparation. She baked cookies for Halloween treats.
- We still take her wheelchair with us in a a restaurant, church or other meeting situations. The chair is easy to get into and out of our Mountaineer vehicle. She does buckle up first thing!!
- Noise and dinner situations do not bother as much as before....but are still a factor.
