medical updates

Saturday morning, Mom had scrambled eggs, juice and coffee. This statement alone is amazing in that she ever got to this point.. She appears to be more relaxed and cognitive of her reality. She certainly isn't accepting of it which is fine with us. She takes more initiative in talking and her sentences are more complete and understandable. Her speech and pronounciation is progress also. Signs of her quick wit are popping up more frequently.

I received a report from her occupational therapist at Friday.....in my office. No, she doesn't make personal house calls but was there for house/auto insurance! I told Mom thanks for the referral and to be extra cooperative with her.

She has her moments of frustration and just being tired of the ordeal, but some powerful goals have been put forth that she is fully embracing. The first one is very challenging if not impossible, but a child of God can do amazing things with His blessing. Her brother, Dan, has a wedding 6/04 in California. This has created a tremendous amount of motivation for Mom to work hard in rehab and to do things even when she doesn't what to. The second goal to push her along is the Women of Faith conference in 9/04. She has enjoyed going to these conferences every year since they began and desperately wants to go this year also.

Thank you again for all of you who have and continue to pray for Mom's recovery. I will pray for the above goals specifically believing that God can and does the impossible. He already has with Mom.

Dear Shawn, Just read the latest update on your Mom, what a miracle. From the last set-back to this, it sounds as though she has made so much progress. Are we able to visit again? Give her my love when you see her. Love Jean

So Many woderful things have happened this week. When we talked about Dan last Monday she was worried but maybe it helped to talk about all the change possible in 3 months. I just praise the Lord.
