Mom is now getting out and away from the facility. She was able to see my daughters perform in a bell choir concert at Eastern Hills Bible Church, go to a Gaither concert with Dad and friends and on Mother's Day attended church service at her church in DeRuyter while enjoying a Mother's Day dinner at Centro's next door afterwards.
She tremendously enjoyed the church choir coming up to the facility to perform and sing to the residents there. Though emotional seeing many of her friends since the accident, Mom was very, very grateful. It has inspired her to finish composing a song that has been on her heart. This has certainly peaked the curiosity of some of the therapists as they continue to train and evaluate her progress.
The fact that what I am about say is amazing that the discussion will even take place, let alone so soon. Next week, the family will meet with doctors and staff about taking steps in preparing for Mom's arrival home sometime in June. We will let you know just when that will exactly be.
There are still some health concerns other than the inability to do certain things physically. Her body, organs, etc. have untaken a huge shock and are still healing from it. Please pray that she will continue to get stronger.
I encourage you to make contact with Mom to see how she is doing and to encourage her. Feel free to contact any family member for her cell phone number.
