Mom's strength is returning. She appears more alert and active overall. Steve made a surprise appearance this weekend to see MOm. There was lots of laughter and catching up with the activities going on in Houston and his family.
I have an interesting story to share with you all. It reminded me of a country song with the theme of not letting "the chain of love end with you" where you continually pass on doing self sacrificing acts for others without expectation of compensation or praise. One thought to keep in mind as you read this would be that it would have never happen if Mom was never hurt. Not that I'm glad about the accident, but here is just another reminder about how God can use any circumstance or consequence of man's freedom of choice and still bring about his purpose and will for certain things to be done.
Steve flew up on Friday morning to Baltimore and then to Buffalo to rent a car to drive here to Syracuse. Arriving in Baltimore, he found a 2+ hour delay for his flight to Buffalo. Steve noticed a woman sitting alone crying and in great distress. In observing this scene, no one stopped to inquire as to her plight. Steve approached her finding out that she too was in midflight to Buffalo but either she got bumped or that there was no seat available for her. I am not sure on this detail. Anyways, Steve was looking at a 2+ hour delay, 1 1/2 hour flight, 1/2 hr to get the rental car and then a 3 1/2 hr drive to Buffalo totaling at least 7 1/2 hrs before arriving in Syracuse. It was a 6 hour drive to Syracuse from Baltimore. (Steve made it in 5 aggressively staying within man's laws I'm sure) The lady had a plane seat to Buffalo.
I've heard it said that church is like the locker room where you are motivated and receive the game plan. Outside the church is the game floor. Nice assist, Steve.
