I am told that the most recent entry on this site was Aug. 1st and several have wondered if that was the most recent news.
There are two answers to that: The first answer is "no" --- the second answer is that there is no longer the urgency to get the news posted, because the recovery continues, slowly but surely.
I have been at home to stay for about 3 months now and the healing process continues, in answer to many prayers.....yours and mine. There have been a few setbacks, but I have now been released from the visting nurse and therapists that have been coming to the house on a multi-weekly basis for the past 3 months. I also had a complete physical check up with my family doctor, this past week. That and the nurse's check ups have allowed the removal of several of the medications that I was on when I left St. Camillus rehab center.
I am going outside for walks along the road any day that weather permits. We have had the wettest summer on record, so a lot of days have been rainy, but I go out as much as possible. I am gradually doing more in the kitchen for meal and food preparation and clean up --- even trying some new dishes as the garden produce comes along.
Win is out every morning picking and stocking produce for his "Veggie Boutique". His is in need of your continuing prayers so that the combination of business, garden , home, wife and other responsibilities does not become an overwhelming load for him, mentally and physically. He shows remakable patience with me, every day and is always ready to help and encourage me in every way, and to put up with my moments of discouragement and despair.
I guess that brings the story up to date for now. Your prayers for me should include good sleep at night and the need not to try to do too much, too fast, especially as fall progresses and the holidays get closer.

There is still a long road ahead especially with the full use of her left arm and fingers. Connie puts on the finger stretcher several times a day for 20 minutes. She plays on the piano but the duration is limited due to the strength and ability of the arm, shoulders and fingers.
Her walking is now at a fuller gait and as a result more rapid. Her balance is better but keeps forgetting where her cane is as she will go off without it!!!
Connie has taken full responsibility for laundry and the athe kitchen is kept spic and span as it has been for the last 40 some years. her vice responses in converstions have quickened as her processing has improved. Facial expressions occur more often with her remarks. Her memory is astounding, past and short term. And her wit is still there.
Connie has come down a long road that has had a number of twists and turns with miles to go.
