Mom ended up going all night without the ventilator. (22hrs total) She is building endurance. 3-7 days ago, she would only go 3-6 hrs. Monday, she went 12hrs. This is good news in that she is on track to get off the ventilator hopefully in a week or two pending no further complications like the pneumonia or stroke, etc. There are no guarantees about this, but I'm going on history and experience of the doctor and nurses. Continue to pray fervently about getting off the ventilator.

Mom has responded more to verbal commands the past day moving the right hand, fingers and feet. This is encouraging from a neurological standpoint. We won't know probably for 6-12 months to get a feel for what abilities Mom will have, but at least we have consistant movement of extremities. It's a starting point.

Pray for Mom's motor skills in that they will return and be restored completely. This is the area of the brain where damage has been confirmed by a cat scan. We know there is some permanant damage. We just have no idea as to what degree.

Soon will be moving Mom to a brain rehab center. We are not positive as to where she will be accepted. We have two places in mind. Pray that they will have a opening for her.

God bless you all.

Glad for the results you are seeing; interesting, isn't it, how the conscious and subconscious responds to the reading of the Word; "the peace that passes all understanding"

Hi Shawn- Good news on the ventilator! I continue to pray for your Mom's recovery each day! I wanted you to know that yesterday I was writing a sermon (I was filling in at the Baptist Church in Georgetown) and the song "Revival" came on. I had to stop what I was working on, because a vivid picture of your mom leading the lidlifters in this song came into my mind. It was a bittersweet moment and I took that time out to pray for continued recovery and peace for your family. My message this Epiphany Sunday morning was to be a shining star for Jesus; just as The Star of Bethlehem was a shining star for the wise men. Your mom is a shining star for Christ and her light has brought many to Him and continues to shine! Debbie
